Ladakh is quite cold even at the summer, as it is located at altitudes of more than 10,000 feet above sea level, so carefully pack your warm clothes. After the check-in formalities, take some rest to give your body to adjust to the height. After Lunch, explore Leh city, today you will visit Shanti Stupa, white dome shaped stupa or chorten on a hilltop in Leh’s Chanspa. The two-storied stupa is adorned with colorful and interesting paintings of the divine events from Buddhist mythology
The evening is free you can walk around the local market and buy souvenirs like Buddhist cloth paintings, called thangkas, images of deities, fine-quality pashminas and decorative handicrafts.
Return back to the hotel for dinner, and over night stay.
After breakfast, start your full day sightseeing tour. Todays destination is Sham Valley. See Hall of Fame dedicated to Indian soldiers. It shows different recoveries from enemies during different battles.
A major attraction is the Grand Spituk Monastery, built around the 11th century. Here, check out the sculptures of Lord Buddha, and don’t miss the picturesque view of the Indus Valley below. Next stop is Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, one of the holiest places for Sikhs. It contains a huge rock, it is believed that Guru Nanak was thrown by a demon. Then visit famous Magnetic Hill. It pulls cars upwards when left on neutral.
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on the road trip towards the north, to reach Nubra Valley. This portion of Ladakh is famous for its white sand dunes.
You will pass through the Khardung La, which at 18380 feet, it is the highest motorable road on earth.
You will stop at Hander village, here you will visit Ldumra valley, Ldumra meaning the valley of flowers. After check-in at the camp, travel along the wide sand dunes from Hunder to Diskit along the Nubra and Shawk rivers. You can also ride or take photos of two humpback Bactrian camels which are found only in this part of India and Central Asia.
Today after breakfast, you will start your excursion tour to Turtuk. This village is located at an altitude of 9850 feet. You have to drive 83 km from Hunder (Nubra Valley) to reach Turtuk, and it will take about 3 hours. About four thousand Muslims live here peacefully. This village was invaded by Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War 1947. After the war Pakistan controlled this village. In 1999 kargil war india deport Pakistan and recapture this village. All villagers still speaks Baltistan language. Explore this beautiful village, walk around the village and also meet the people, later return back to Hunder village, for Dinner and Overnight stay at camp.
After breakfast this morning, visit Diskit Monastery and admire the beautiful scenery of Nubra Valley. Check out form the camp and leave for youe next destination, Pangong Lake (altitude 13862 feet). The turquoise panoramic lake, the great mountains, and landscapes that will definitely amaze you. Spend your afternoon enjoying the beauty of Pangong Lake and at night it is the best place to see the star. Overnight stay at Lakeside Camp.
Drive back to Leh along the same route after breakfast. Enroute visit Thikse Monastery, Indus Ghat and 3 Idiots Point (Ranchu School). After arrival at Leh, and take some rest. Evening is free, you can explore Leh city.
After breakfast, you will start your journey towards Kargil. On the way you will stop at Likir, to visit Indus Zaskar sangam, Likir Gompa,and Moon land. You next destination today is Alchi, here you wiy see Alchi Gompa, pre-Tibetan Dardic inhabitants, Alchi Choskhor Monastery, and many more. Arrive in Kargil in the evening, check in and over night stay.
Kargil is the second largest city in Ladakh after Leh and famous for the 1999 Kargil War. Visit the Kargil War Museum in Dras – a place to remember the past and pay homage to our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Travel to Leh, on the way stop at Mulbekh where you will visit a 50 feet high Chamba statue carved from a single rock. Next you will visit Lamayuru famous for its moon like landscape and the monastery. At around 6 pm you will reach at Leh.
After your breakfast, you will be transfers to airport for your onward journey, with memories of a lifetime trip.
